The Apollo City 2024 Electric Scooter is a premium dual-motor commuter with dual 500W motors and up to 2,000W combined peak output, a 48V 20Ah battery, speeds of up to 51 km/h, and a manufacturer-rated range of 37–69 km. Triple-spring suspension, 10-inch self-healing tubeless tires, dual drum brakes with regenerative braking, IP66 protection, integrated signals, and Apollo App connectivity make it a strong choice for daily Vancouver riding.
Apollo City 2024: Dual-Motor Power, Range & Commuter Comfort
A closer look at the Apollo City 2024 motor, battery, suspension, braking and ownership features that matter for everyday commuting.
01 Motor performance
Dual 500W motors for hilly city routes
The Apollo City uses dual 500W nominal hub motors with up to 2000W of combined peak output. Apollo lists a top speed of up to 51 km/h and a maximum incline rating of 25° under its test conditions.
Rear-and-front drive gives the City stronger traction and acceleration than a typical single-motor commuter, while Eco, Normal, and Sport modes let riders choose how much performance to use.

Speed and incline figures are manufacturer ratings. Rider weight, battery level, temperature, traction, and the length of a hill can reduce real-world performance.

02 Between charges
48V 20Ah battery with up to 69 km claimed
A 48V 20Ah lithium-ion battery gives the City a manufacturer-rated range of up to 69 km in Eco mode. Apollo lists approximately 4.5 hours for a full charge with the supplied charger.
Published range varies by mode, and faster riding uses substantially more energy. Hills, cold weather, rider weight, wind, tire pressure, and repeated acceleration all reduce the distance available from a charge.

The 69 km figure is a best-case manufacturer rating in Eco mode. Real-world Vancouver range is normally lower, especially on hills, in winter, or at higher speeds.

03 Ride control
Triple suspension, self-healing tires, and low-maintenance braking
Triple-spring suspension and 10-inch self-healing tubeless tires help absorb cracked pavement and road joints while maintaining an air-filled contact patch. PunctureGuard technology is designed to seal many common small tread punctures.
Dual enclosed drum brakes provide durable mechanical stopping, while Apollo Power RBS adds progressive regenerative braking through a dedicated thumb control and reduces routine wear on the mechanical system.

Drum + RBSBraking system
Self-healing tires do not prevent every flat, and regenerative braking does not replace the mechanical brakes. Maintain tire pressure and inspect the braking system regularly.

04 Wet-weather readiness
IP66 protection with integrated city lighting
The City carries an IP66 water-resistance rating and includes a 500-lumen front headlight, rear brake lighting, and integrated handlebar turn signals for better visibility and communication in traffic.
The lighting and sealed construction are useful for changing commuting conditions, but the scooter should still be kept out of deep standing water, dried after wet rides, and never pressure-washed.

IntegratedTurn signals
IP66 is a controlled-test rating, not a waterproof guarantee. It does not cover immersion, deep puddles, pressure washing, or long-term water damage.

05 Storage and carrying
Approximately 29 kg with a folding stem
The Apollo City weighs approximately 29 kg and supports riders up to 120 kg. Its folding stem reduces the storage footprint for a vehicle, office, or ground-level storage area.
This is still a substantial two-handed lift rather than a lightweight last-mile scooter. Riders who need to carry it up several flights every day should compare it with the lighter Apollo Go before deciding.

FoldingStem design
A folding stem reduces storage size, not lifting weight. Test the lift in person when stairs or frequent vehicle loading are part of the routine.

Apollo City 2024 Dual-Motor Electric Scooter
The Apollo City 2024 is the dual-motor City platform built for riders who want stronger hill performance and a more refined ride than a basic commuter scooter. Its dual 500W motors can deliver up to 2,000W of combined peak output, while the 48V 20Ah battery supports a manufacturer-rated range of 37–69 km depending on mode and riding conditions.
Triple-spring suspension and 10-inch PunctureGuard self-healing tubeless tires help smooth rough pavement, while dual enclosed drum brakes work with Apollo's regenerative braking system for low-maintenance stopping. Integrated turn signals, IP66 water resistance, app connectivity and a practical folding frame make the City well suited to regular commuting and longer urban rides.
Who Is the Apollo City Best For?
The City is best for riders who value a stable, premium commuter with meaningful hill-climbing ability. Its roughly 65 lb weight is manageable for garage, office or vehicle storage, but riders who need to carry a scooter up several flights of stairs may prefer a lighter model.

One of the biggest reasons I purchased this scooter was the advertised range and dual-motor performance because my daily commute is fairly long. After several weeks of riding, I can say the battery has performed better than I expected. Of course, like any electric scooter, riding at maximum speed drains the battery faster, but under normal conditions the range has been more than enough for my needs. The ride quality is incredibly smooth, and I don't feel tired even after longer trips. The handlebars, display, controls, and overall finish all feel high quality and well made. Nothing about this scooter feels cheap. In my opinion, it's one of the best premium commuter scooters currently available for everyday city transportation.
Thank you for sharing such a detailed review, Taylor! We’re glad to hear the Apollo City has exceeded your expectations with its range, smooth ride quality, and premium build. It’s great to know it’s been a reliable choice for your daily commute. Enjoy every ride! ⚡🙌

I'd really appreciate hearing from someone who has experience using the Apollo mobile app. Does it only display basic information like battery percentage and trip statistics, or can you also customize riding modes, speed limits, and install firmware updates directly through the application? I'm also interested in knowing how stable the Bluetooth connection is during everyday use. Some scooter manufacturers offer apps that look great but frequently disconnect, so I'd like to know how well this system performs in real-world conditions before making my purchase.
Great question, Erik! The Apollo app offers useful features like ride tracking, customization options, speed settings, and firmware updates depending on the model. The Bluetooth connection is designed for everyday use, and many riders find it a convenient way to personalize their riding experience. 🙌

Upgraded to the Apollo City dual motor version last month, and the ride quality is night and day compared to my previous entry-level scooter. The triple spring suspension combined with those 10-inch self-healing tubeless tires completely dampens the vibration from rough pavement and potholes. I’ve already taken a few sharp debris hits, but the tires held up perfectly without any pressure loss. It’s slightly on the heavier side around 29kg, but the stability you get at top speeds makes it completely worth the trade-off.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Mahdimehran! We’re glad to hear the Apollo City has been such a big upgrade for you. The combination of suspension, self-healing tires, stability, and dual-motor performance makes it a great choice for riders looking for a smoother and more confident ride. Enjoy every trip! ⚡

I'm thinking about buying this model, but I'd like to know how accurate the advertised range is in real-world conditions. If you're riding around 35–40 km/h most of the time, how many kilometers are you actually getting before needing to recharge?
Great question, Noah! The Apollo City’s real-world range depends on riding conditions, speed, rider weight, and terrain. Riding consistently at higher speeds like 35–40 km/h will typically reduce range compared to the advertised maximum, but many riders find it more than enough for daily commuting. 🙌

I've been using this scooter for about three weeks now, and I can honestly say it's one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. Before this, I owned a cheaper electric scooter that had a much shorter range and made every rough road feel uncomfortable. The Apollo City is on a completely different level. The acceleration is smooth and powerful, and it handles hills without struggling at all. What impressed me the most is the overall ride comfort. The suspension absorbs bumps extremely well, and the tires provide excellent grip even on cracked pavement. The companion app is also a nice bonus, allowing me to monitor the battery and adjust settings easily. The build quality feels premium from every angle, and everything seems well engineered. If you're looking for a reliable commuter scooter that's comfortable, fast, and practical, I think this model is definitely worth the investment.
Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review! We're thrilled to hear that the Apollo City has exceeded your expectations and delivered the comfort, performance, and ride quality you were looking for. It's great to know the suspension, hill-climbing capability, and companion app have all made a positive difference in your daily rides.
We truly appreciate your recommendation and are always here if you ever need maintenance, accessories, or support. Enjoy the ride, and thanks again for choosing ProMechBC!

What our customers say
Unedited reviews from riders across the Lower Mainland — and a few who crossed the border just to see us.
I drove all the way from Seattle to bring my daughter's scooter to ProMechBC and I could not be more pleased with both the repairs and the customer service. I will definitely be bringing the scooter North of the border when it needs some love.

Yes. This ProMechBC listing is for the dual-motor Apollo City, which uses two 500W rated motors with up to 2,000W of combined peak output. Apollo lists a maximum incline of 25° under suitable conditions.
Yes. It is designed for medium-to-long urban commutes and riders who prioritize comfort, hill performance, weather resistance, and range over ultra-light portability. At approximately 65 lb (29.5 kg), it is less convenient for frequent stair carrying than smaller commuter scooters.
It combines front and rear drum brakes with Apollo’s Power RBS regenerative braking system. Triple-spring suspension helps absorb broken pavement, road seams, and other common city-surface imperfections.
It uses a 48V 20Ah lithium-ion battery built with 21700 cells. Apollo lists an approximate 4.5-hour charging time with the included 54.6V 3A charger.
It uses 10-inch tubeless pneumatic tires with Apollo’s PunctureGuard self-healing sealant. They provide more cushioning than solid tires while helping seal many small punctures automatically.
It is water-resistant, not waterproof. The City carries an IP66 rating for resistance to rain and water spray, but it should not be submerged, pressure-washed, or intentionally ridden through deep water.
The scooter weighs approximately 65 lb (29.5 kg) and supports a maximum total load of 265 lb (120 kg), including the rider and anything carried. Its folding design helps with storage, but the weight should be considered if stairs are part of your commute.
Yes. The Apollo App lets riders adjust supported ride settings, view range estimates and ride data, and use scooter security controls. The City also includes an onboard display, integrated handlebar turn signals, and 360° lighting for urban visibility.
Apollo’s recall applies only to City 2024 scooters in serial ranges 4202240300001–4202240301236 and 4202240400001–4202240400764. Apollo states that units received after February 3, 2025 already have the updated recall-approved stem; owners of earlier or uncertain units should check the serial number under the deck and contact ProMechBC or Apollo before riding.
