Dualtron Dolphin Electric Scooter

The Dualtron Dolphin brings the renowned Dualtron name into a lightweight, commuter-friendly platform designed for riders who prioritize practicality, comfort, and reliability. Built by Minimotors, the Dolphin combines premium engineering, modern features, and everyday usability into a scooter that feels far more refined than typical entry-level models.

Whether you're commuting through Vancouver, riding to school, running errands, or looking for an efficient alternative to driving, the Dualtron Dolphin delivers the quality and dependability that riders have come to expect from the Dualtron brand.

Built for Everyday Commuting

The Dualtron Dolphin was designed with urban transportation in mind.

Unlike larger performance scooters that prioritize extreme speed and power, the Dolphin focuses on creating a comfortable, efficient, and practical riding experience for daily use. Its compact dimensions make it easy to maneuver through city streets, bike lanes, and crowded urban environments while maintaining excellent stability and rider confidence.

For commuters looking for a reliable scooter that fits naturally into their daily routine, the Dolphin is an ideal solution.

Premium Dualtron Build Quality

One of the key benefits of choosing the Dualtron Dolphin is access to the engineering standards that have made Minimotors a leader in the electric scooter industry.

The frame feels solid, the controls are intuitive, and the overall fit and finish exceed what many riders expect from a commuter-focused scooter. Every component has been designed with durability and long-term ownership in mind.

This attention to detail helps create an ownership experience that feels more premium than many competing scooters in the same category.

Who Should Buy the Dualtron Dolphin?

The Dualtron Dolphin is ideal for:

  • Daily commuters
  • Students
  • Urban riders
  • Apartment residents
  • First-time electric scooter owners
  • Riders seeking a lightweight and portable scooter
  • Users upgrading from entry-level models
  • Anyone looking for reliable everyday transportation

Its approachable design makes it suitable for a wide range of riders while still delivering the quality expected from the Dualtron brand.

Dualtron Dolphin vs Typical Commuter Scooters

Compared to many commuter scooters on the market, the Dolphin offers:

  • Premium Dualtron engineering
  • Better ride comfort
  • Higher-quality construction
  • Improved reliability
  • More refined handling
  • Comfortable portability
  • Better long-term ownership value
  • A more polished riding experience overall

These advantages make it a strong option for riders seeking a dependable daily scooter.

An Ideal First Premium Electric Scooter

For riders entering the world of electric scooters, the Dolphin provides an excellent starting point.

It offers the practicality, comfort, and ease of use that beginners appreciate while introducing them to the build quality and refinement that have made Dualtron a globally respected brand.

Rather than chasing extreme speed numbers, the Dolphin focuses on delivering an enjoyable and dependable everyday riding experience.

Final Verdict

The Dualtron Dolphin is a thoughtfully designed commuter scooter that combines portability, comfort, reliability, and premium construction into an exceptionally practical package. Its smooth performance, comfortable ride quality, and everyday usability make it a strong choice for riders seeking efficient urban transportation.

For riders in Vancouver looking for a dependable electric scooter backed by the reputation of Minimotors and the Dualtron brand, the Dolphin offers an outstanding balance of quality, convenience, and value.

Built around nine things

Every claim, shown and measured.

No marketing maths. Real figures from our bench and the road, with the conditions we measured them in.

01 Motor

35 km/h on the flat

450 W, rated to 35 km/h. Vancouver has more hills than flat, and the fourth of them on the ride home is where an underpowered machine starts to fade. Power arrives through thumb throttle, which is what decides whether it feels predictable in traffic or merely fast.

Power is easy to sell and hard to live with. The specification that matters is not the peak figure but how much of it is available when the battery is half empty and the motor is hot — which is exactly the condition a commute puts it in, and exactly the condition a showroom never does.

  • 35 km/hTop speed
  • 450 WMotor
  • Thumb ThrottleThrottle

Manufacturer power figures are measured on a bench, not on a hill with a rider on board. Use them to compare models, not to predict what you will feel.

02 The battery

Up to 46 km claimed, and what that means

Up to 46 km claimed, 36V 15 Ah or Samsung. Charging takes 7.5 hours approx, and that is the figure that actually shapes your week — a pack you top up overnight without thinking about it beats a bigger one you have to plan around.

Every battery is a consumable, and how you treat it decides whether that means five years or two. Charging to full only when you need the full range, keeping it off the charger once it is there, and storing it indoors through winter are worth more to its lifespan than any figure on the spec sheet.

  • 46 kmClaimed range
  • 7.5 hours approx.Charge time

Up to 46 km is the manufacturer's figure, measured on flat ground, in warm weather, with a light rider holding a steady low speed. Vancouver hills, winter temperatures and stop-start traffic all cost you range. We have not yet run our own road test on this one; when we do, the tested figure goes in the spec table beside the claim.

03 Handling

9 inch of contact patch

Front & Rear drum brake with ABS & EBS, 9 inch tyres. Braking, tyre and suspension are one system and only as good as the weakest of the three: the best calipers stop nothing once the tyre lets go, and grip is what suspension exists to protect when the surface stops cooperating. All of it is working against 20 kg of machine before you add a rider, which is the load every stop has to absorb.

Confidence is the actual product here. A machine that stops predictably, in the wet, from speed, on a surface you did not choose, is one you ride assertively and therefore safely. One you have to think about is one you ride tentatively, which is its own kind of risk.

  • 9 inchTyre
  • 20 kgWeight
  • 100 kgMax rider weight

Drum brakes are close to maintenance-free and completely unbothered by rain, but they fade on long descents in a way discs do not. On a steep hill, brake in stages instead of dragging them.

04 Wet season

Seen in the dark at 4pm

IPX5 rated, Headlight: Yes, 9 inch tyres. Half of the riding year here is wet and dark, which puts sealing and lighting in the same category as brakes rather than in the category of extras.

Vancouver's riding season is mostly wet and mostly dark, which makes sealing and lighting the difference between a machine you use in November and one you look at. Water finds bearings, connectors and controllers first, and the damage from it is gradual enough that you notice it as unreliability rather than as a leak.

  • IPX5Ingress rating
  • 9 inchTyre

IPX5 covers rain and road spray. It does not cover immersion — riding through standing water, or pressure-washing the machine, will get water past that seal and into the controller, and no warranty covers it. Wipe it down instead.

05 Carrying it

20 kg to carry

20 kg. The number that decides whether a scooter gets used is rarely the range — it is whether you can carry it up a flight of stairs, into a boot or onto a bus rack without planning your day around it. Rated to 100 kg, so the weight it carries and the weight you carry are both accounted for.

I drove all the way from Seattle to bring my daughter's scooter to ProMechBC and I could not be more pleased with both the repairs and the customer service. I will definitely be bringing the scooter North of the border when it needs some love.

Recently had an accident with my Apollo Go — luckily nothing major was damaged, but it still needed some repair and replacement parts. Service was great, and I got my scooter back within a week. :D
