Why riders choose the Himiway Cruiser Step-Thru

What makes it a step-thru commuter e-bike.

Every figure below is labelled with where it comes from, so a manufacturer’s claim never reads as a measurement.

01 Power

750W brushless gear motor, geared for gradient

750W brushless gear motor. Watts set the ceiling; what you feel on a grade is how much pulling power is available low in the range, where a climb from a standstill actually happens.

Torque is what you feel; watts are what the marketing quotes. A motor with useful pulling power low in its range gets you moving from a standstill on a gradient — at a light, on a driveway apron, halfway up a climb you had to stop on. Those are the moments that decide whether a bike gets ridden or parked.

  • 750 WMotor
  • 40 km/hAssisted to

Any climbing claim assumes a rider putting in their share. A throttle-only ascent drains the pack far faster than the range figure suggests.

96.6 km claimed, and what that means

96.6 km claimed, 48V 17.5Ah or LG/Samsung battery. The figure that shapes your week is not the maximum but the margin left at the end of an ordinary day, in the cold, with the lights on.

The number worth knowing is not how far it goes on a perfect day, but how far it still goes in February with a headwind and a cold pack. Batteries lose capacity in the cold and regain it when they warm; a pack with genuine headroom absorbs that, and one bought exactly to your commute length does not.

  • 96.6 kmClaimed range

96.6 km is the manufacturer's figure, measured on flat ground, in warm weather, with a light rider holding a steady low speed. Vancouver hills, winter temperatures and stop-start traffic all cost you range. We have not yet run our own road test on this one; when we do, the tested figure goes in the spec table beside the claim.

03 Control

Stops 158.8 kg of bike and rider

180MM Mechanical Disc Brakes, 26" x 4" tyres. Stopping distance is set by the contact patch as much as by the caliper: hardware can only ask for as much grip as the tyre has to give, which is why both are quoted here rather than just the one that sounds impressive. Rated to 158.8 kg all in, that is the weight the brakes and the contact patch are being asked to arrest on a wet painted line.

Nobody shops on brakes and everybody remembers them. The right question is not how hard it stops on a dry test but whether the fifth hard stop feels like the first, in the rain, with luggage and a passenger-weight load on the rack.

  • 180MM Mechanical Disc BrakesBrakes
  • 158.8 kgMax total load
  • 32.7 kgWeight

Mechanical discs need the cable adjusting as the pads wear. It is a two-minute job and the difference between a good lever and a vague one, so do not put it off.

Sized for Applicable Height: 5'1" ~ 6'5"

Applicable Height: 5'1" ~ 6'5", 6061 Aluminum Alloy frame. Fit decides whether a bike is still being ridden in month three, and it is the one specification a photograph cannot tell you — reach, standover and saddle height interact, and two riders of the same height with different inseams want genuinely different setups. It weighs 32.7 kg, which is worth knowing before you commit if it has to come up a flight of stairs or onto a bus rack at the end of the ride.

The frame is the one part you cannot upgrade later. Everything bolted to it can be changed as it wears or as your taste changes, which is why the material, the geometry and the honesty of the joins are worth more attention than the components hanging off them.

  • 32.7 kgWeight
  • 158.8 kgMax total load

Height charts assume average proportions. Two riders at the same height with different inseams will want different setups, so treat any published range as a starting point and expect to move the saddle and bars.

05 Gears

Gears: Shimano- 14-28T BROWN/BK

Gears: Shimano- 14-28T BROWN/BK · Chain: KMC chain, Pedal Assist Level: 0~5 level pedal assist · Throttle: Half Twist Throttle. Gearing decides what the motor is asked to do: the right gear on a climb keeps you spinning and keeps the drive unit cool and efficient, and the wrong one grinds through your knees and your range at the same time. Assistance runs to 40 km/h; past that the motor stops helping and the drivetrain is doing all of it, which is exactly when the spread of gears starts to matter.

Gearing decides what the motor is asked to do. The right gear on a climb keeps you spinning and keeps the drive unit in its efficient band, where it runs cooler and draws less; the wrong one grinds through both your knees and your range. A usable spread of gears is worth more than an extra sprocket you never select.

  • 40 km/hAssisted to

Pedal-assist levels are a controller setting, not a measurement. What one brand tunes into its middle level another spreads across two, so treat the count as a range of options rather than as a spec you can compare across bikes.

Himiway Cruiser Step-Thru Fat Tire Electric Bike

The Himiway Cruiser Step-Thru Electric Bike combines long-range capability, fat-tire stability, and a low-step frame designed for easier mounting and comfortable everyday riding.

Its 750W geared hub motor provides strong electric assistance for city streets, hills, gravel, and recreational routes, while the step-through frame offers a more accessible riding position than a traditional high-step fat-tire e-bike.

Samsung/LG Battery and Long-Range Riding

The Cruiser Step-Thru uses a removable 48V 15Ah Samsung/LG lithium-ion battery, providing approximately 720Wh of capacity.

Himiway lists a riding range of approximately 35–60 miles (56–97 km) depending on pedal-assist level, rider weight, terrain, temperature, and other riding conditions.

26" × 4" Fat Tires and Front Suspension

Wide 26" × 4" fat tires provide additional traction and cushioning on rough pavement, gravel, dirt, snow, and other mixed surfaces.

The front suspension fork helps absorb impacts and vibration, improving comfort on uneven roads and recreational trails.

Shimano 7-Speed Gearing and Disc Brakes

A Shimano 7-speed drivetrain gives riders useful mechanical gearing for climbs and everyday cycling, while front and rear 180 mm disc brakes provide dependable stopping control.

The bike also includes a half-twist throttle, LCD display with USB charging, front lighting, and brake-activated rear lighting.

Strong Step-Through Frame

The Cruiser Step-Thru uses a reinforced 6061 aluminum frame with a manufacturer-listed maximum payload of up to 350 lb.

For riders searching for a Himiway Cruiser Step-Thru Electric Bike in Vancouver, this model offers a practical combination of easy mounting, long battery range, fat-tire traction, and commuter-friendly equipment.

I drove all the way from Seattle to bring my daughter's scooter to ProMechBC and I could not be more pleased with both the repairs and the customer service. I will definitely be bringing the scooter North of the border when it needs some love.

Recently had an accident with my Apollo Go — luckily nothing major was damaged, but it still needed some repair and replacement parts. Service was great, and I got my scooter back within a week. :D
