Why riders choose the Rize Fixie

What makes it an electric bike.

Every figure below is labelled with where it comes from, so a manufacturer’s claim never reads as a measurement.

01 Climbing

350w 45Nm, geared for gradient

350w 45Nm. Watts set the ceiling; what you feel on a grade is how much pulling power is available low in the range, where a climb from a standstill actually happens.

Torque is what you feel; watts are what the marketing quotes. A motor with useful pulling power low in its range gets you moving from a standstill on a gradient — at a light, on a driveway apron, halfway up a climb you had to stop on. Those are the moments that decide whether a bike gets ridden or parked.

  • 350 WMotor
  • 32 km/hAssisted to

Any climbing claim assumes a rider putting in their share. A throttle-only ascent drains the pack far faster than the range figure suggests.

02 Distance

110 km claimed, and what that means

110 km claimed, 36v 9.6Ah. Charging takes 5 Hours, and that is the figure that actually shapes your week — a pack you top up overnight without thinking about it beats a bigger one you have to plan around.

The number worth knowing is not how far it goes on a perfect day, but how far it still goes in February with a headwind and a cold pack. Batteries lose capacity in the cold and regain it when they warm; a pack with genuine headroom absorbs that, and one bought exactly to your commute length does not.

  • 5 HoursCharge time

110 km is the manufacturer's figure, measured on flat ground, in warm weather, with a light rider holding a steady low speed. Vancouver hills, winter temperatures and stop-start traffic all cost you range. We have not yet run our own road test on this one; when we do, the tested figure goes in the spec table beside the claim.

03 Control

Stops 113.4 kg of bike and rider

Hydraulic Disc 180mm, 700c x 28c tyres. Stopping distance is set by the contact patch as much as by the caliper: hardware can only ask for as much grip as the tyre has to give, which is why both are quoted here rather than just the one that sounds impressive. Rated to 113.4 kg all in, that is the weight the brakes and the contact patch are being asked to arrest on a wet painted line.

Nobody shops on brakes and everybody remembers them. The right question is not how hard it stops on a dry test but whether the fifth hard stop feels like the first, in the rain, with luggage and a passenger-weight load on the rack.

  • 113.4 kgMax total load
  • 15.4 kgWeight

BC requires a standard e-bike to stop from 32 km/h within 9 m on clean, level pavement. That is a dry-surface test — assume noticeably longer in Vancouver rain, and leave the gap to prove it.

Size: 19" / 23" · Applicable Height: Fixie 19": 5'3"-6'2" / Fixie 23": 5'8"-6'4", 6061 Aluminum Alloy frame. Fit decides whether a bike is still being ridden in month three, and it is the one specification a photograph cannot tell you — reach, standover and saddle height interact, and two riders of the same height with different inseams want genuinely different setups. It weighs 15.4 kg, which is worth knowing before you commit if it has to come up a flight of stairs or onto a bus rack at the end of the ride.

Fit is the specification that decides whether a bike gets ridden after the first month, and it is the one that cannot be judged from a photograph. Reach, standover and saddle height interact — two riders of the same height with different inseams want genuinely different setups, and the adjustment range is what lets a bike belong to you rather than merely fit you.

Height charts assume average proportions. Two riders at the same height with different inseams will want different setups, so treat any published range as a starting point and expect to move the saddle and bars.

05 Pedalling

Assist to 32 km/h, then it is you

Pedal Assist Level: 3, 5, 7, or 9 levels· Pedal Assist Sensor: Cadence Sensor · Throttle: 100% Power on Demand. Gearing decides what the motor is asked to do: the right gear on a climb keeps you spinning and keeps the drive unit cool and efficient, and the wrong one grinds through your knees and your range at the same time. Assistance runs to 32 km/h; past that the motor stops helping and the drivetrain is doing all of it, which is exactly when the spread of gears starts to matter.

Assist cut-off is set by regulation, not by ambition, and a bike that keeps helping past the legal limit is a different legal class the moment it leaves the shop. Knowing where the motor stops and you start is worth understanding before you buy rather than after.

  • 32 km/hAssisted to

Pedal-assist levels are a controller setting, not a measurement. What one brand tunes into its middle level another spreads across two, so treat the count as a range of options rather than as a spec you can compare across bikes.

Rize Fixie Lightweight Road Electric Bike

The Rize Fixie Electric Bike is designed for riders who want a clean, lightweight commuter with discreet electric assistance and very little drivetrain maintenance. Its minimalist road-bike appearance makes it especially appealing for urban riders who do not want the bulky look of a typical e-bike.

350W Motor and Up to 100 km Range

The Fixie uses a 350W motor producing 45 N·m of torque, providing smooth assistance for commuting, flat-to-moderate hills, and everyday city riding.

Its integrated 36V 9.6Ah battery provides approximately 345Wh of capacity, with Rize listing a maximum range of up to 62 miles (100 km) under favourable conditions. The listed top assisted speed is up to 20 mph (32 km/h).

Carbon Belt Drive

Instead of a conventional bicycle chain, the Rize Fixie uses a carbon belt drive. This setup is quiet, clean, and requires less routine maintenance than a traditional chain drivetrain.

Rize also states that its belt can last several times longer than a conventional chain, making the Fixie particularly well suited to riders looking for a simple commuter with fewer drivetrain maintenance requirements.

Lightweight Urban Design

The custom 6061 aluminum frame helps keep total weight to approximately 34 lb including the battery, making the Fixie easier to carry, move through apartments, or handle on stairs than many full-size e-bikes.

The bike rides on 700C × 28C Kenda tires, giving it an efficient road-oriented setup suited to paved streets, bike lanes, and longer urban routes.

Hydraulic Brakes and Everyday Features

The Fixie is equipped with hydraulic disc brakes and 180 mm rotors, a cadence-sensor pedal assist system, Selle Royal cushioned saddle, Wellgo aluminum pedals, integrated headlight and taillight, and an LCD display with customizable assist and security settings.

For riders searching for a Rize Fixie Electric Bike in Vancouver, this model is a strong choice for city commuting, lightweight portability, low-maintenance riding, and riders who prefer a clean traditional bicycle aesthetic with electric assistance.

I drove all the way from Seattle to bring my daughter's scooter to ProMechBC and I could not be more pleased with both the repairs and the customer service. I will definitely be bringing the scooter North of the border when it needs some love.

Recently had an accident with my Apollo Go — luckily nothing major was damaged, but it still needed some repair and replacement parts. Service was great, and I got my scooter back within a week. :D
