Manufacturer power figures are measured on a bench, not on a hill with a rider on board. Use them to compare models, not to predict what you will feel.
70 km is the manufacturer's figure, measured on flat ground, in warm weather, with a light rider holding a steady low speed. Vancouver hills, winter temperatures and stop-start traffic all cost you range. We have not yet run our own road test on this one; when we do, the tested figure goes in the spec table beside the claim.
Hydraulic discs give the best stopping force per finger, and they need bleeding eventually. Bring it in when the lever starts feeling soft rather than waiting for it to reach the bar.
Water resistance should not be treated as waterproofing. Avoid deep water, pressure washing and charging while the scooter or charge port is wet.
28 kg is a two-handed lift for most people, not a one-handed one. If it has to go on a bus rack or up stairs daily, come and pick it up in the shop first.
The VSETT 9 APEX is a compact dual-motor electric scooter for riders who want stronger acceleration and braking than a typical commuter without moving to an oversized performance chassis. The APEX keeps the compact character associated with the VSETT 9 family while adding a more modern performance package and hydraulic braking. Riders comparing it with the VSETT 9+ should focus on battery configuration, brake hardware, controls, and current parts compatibility rather than relying only on model names.
Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes provide direct stopping control, while 8 × 3-inch pneumatic tires increase the contact patch compared with narrower commuter tires. Front and rear spring suspension helps absorb road seams and broken pavement. At about 28 kg, the scooter folds for storage but remains a substantial two-handed lift.
