Why riders choose the Emmo E-wild C2

What makes it a full-suspension electric mountain / all-terrain e-bike.

Every figure below is labelled with where it comes from, so a manufacturer’s claim never reads as a measurement.

01 The drive unit

Peak 750W Geared Hub Motor, geared for gradient

Peak 750W Geared Hub Motor. Watts set the ceiling; what you feel on a grade is how much pulling power is available low in the range, where a climb from a standstill actually happens.

Vancouver is not a flat city, and a bike specified for one is obvious within a week. Assistance that holds its character on a sustained grade, rather than fading as the motor heats, is the difference between arriving comfortable and arriving determined never to take that route again.

  • 750 WMotor
  • 32 km/hAssisted to

Any climbing claim assumes a rider putting in their share. A throttle-only ascent drains the pack far faster than the range figure suggests.

02 Between charges

110 km claimed, and what that means

110 km claimed, Removable 48V/17.5Ah Lithium. Charging takes 3 - 10 Hours, and that is the figure that actually shapes your week — a pack you top up overnight without thinking about it beats a bigger one you have to plan around.

Range is the most quoted figure in this category and the least reliable, because it is measured in the conditions most favourable to it. What actually shapes your week is charge time and how much margin you have left at the end of a normal day — a pack you top up twice a week without thinking about it beats a bigger one you have to plan around.

  • 110 kmClaimed range
  • 48 VBattery
  • 3 - 10 HoursCharge time

110 km is the manufacturer's figure, measured on flat ground, in warm weather, with a light rider holding a steady low speed. Vancouver hills, winter temperatures and stop-start traffic all cost you range. We have not yet run our own road test on this one; when we do, the tested figure goes in the spec table beside the claim.

03 Stopping

Mechanical Disk Brake, and why it matters

Mechanical Disk Brake, 26" x 4" tyres. Stopping distance is set by the contact patch as much as by the caliper: hardware can only ask for as much grip as the tyre has to give, which is why both are quoted here rather than just the one that sounds impressive.

An e-bike carries far more mass and speed than the bicycle it is descended from, and the brakes are the component most often carried over unchanged. Consistent lever feel at the bottom of a long descent — no fade, no wandering bite point — is what you are paying for, and it is invisible until the one time you need it.

  • 45 kgWeight

BC requires a standard e-bike to stop from 32 km/h within 9 m on clean, level pavement. That is a dry-surface test — assume noticeably longer in Vancouver rain, and leave the gap to prove it.

04 Sizing

Sized for a range of riders

Size: 190 cmx 73 cmx 110 cm/ 75 inchx 39 inchx 43 inch, Aluminum frame. Fit decides whether a bike is still being ridden in month three, and it is the one specification a photograph cannot tell you — reach, standover and saddle height interact, and two riders of the same height with different inseams want genuinely different setups. It weighs 45 kg, which is worth knowing before you commit if it has to come up a flight of stairs or onto a bus rack at the end of the ride.

Come and stand over it. Ten minutes with the saddle at the right height tells you more than any size chart, and it is the difference between a bike that disappears underneath you and one you are always slightly negotiating with.

  • AluminumFrame
  • 45 kgWeight

Height charts assume average proportions. Two riders at the same height with different inseams will want different setups, so treat any published range as a starting point and expect to move the saddle and bars.

05 Gears

Gears: Shimano MF-TZ500-7

Gears: Shimano MF-TZ500-7, Riding Mode: Up to 9 Levels of PAS; Thumb Throttle on Demand. Gearing decides what the motor is asked to do: the right gear on a climb keeps you spinning and keeps the drive unit cool and efficient, and the wrong one grinds through your knees and your range at the same time. Assistance runs to 32 km/h; past that the motor stops helping and the drivetrain is doing all of it, which is exactly when the spread of gears starts to matter.

Gearing decides what the motor is asked to do. The right gear on a climb keeps you spinning and keeps the drive unit in its efficient band, where it runs cooler and draws less; the wrong one grinds through both your knees and your range. A usable spread of gears is worth more than an extra sprocket you never select.

  • 32 km/hAssisted to

Pedal-assist levels are a controller setting, not a measurement. What one brand tunes into its middle level another spreads across two, so treat the count as a range of options rather than as a spec you can compare across bikes.

I drove all the way from Seattle to bring my daughter's scooter to ProMechBC and I could not be more pleased with both the repairs and the customer service. I will definitely be bringing the scooter North of the border when it needs some love.

Recently had an accident with my Apollo Go — luckily nothing major was damaged, but it still needed some repair and replacement parts. Service was great, and I got my scooter back within a week. :D
