G30 and G30P speed ratings differ by market configuration. Local software settings, rider load, temperature and traction can also affect maximum speed.
65 km is the manufacturer's figure, measured on flat ground, in warm weather, with a light rider holding a steady low speed. Vancouver hills, winter temperatures and stop-start traffic all cost you range. We have not yet run our own road test on this one; when we do, the tested figure goes in the spec table beside the claim.
Brakes need bedding in when new and checking after the first hundred kilometres. Whatever the specification says, an unbedded pad stops badly.
IPX5 is water resistance, not waterproofing. Avoid immersion, deep puddles and pressure washing.

The Segway Ninebot MAX G30 is a long-range commuter scooter built around a 350W rear-wheel-drive motor and a 551Wh battery. Segway rates the G30 for a typical range of approximately 65 km, while the standard G30 configuration is listed at up to 25 km/h. Market-specific G30P versions use a higher 30 km/h setting, so model designation matters when comparing MAX G30 specs.
Ten-inch tubeless self-sealing pneumatic tires help reduce puncture-related downtime, while a front drum brake and rear electronic brake provide a low-maintenance braking setup. The built-in charger, one-step folding system, Smart-BMS and IPX5 water-resistance rating helped make the MAX G30 a widely used everyday commuter platform.

At approximately 19 kg, the G30 is lighter than many modern performance commuters and is well suited to paved daily travel, storage at work or home and riders who do not need high-speed performance. Segway's 65 km typical-range figure is based on controlled test conditions, so real-world distance varies with speed, rider weight, temperature, hills and tire pressure.
