Heybike Mars 3.0: Folding Fat-Tire Power, Range & Full Suspension

A closer look at the Mars 3.0 motor, 624Wh battery, full suspension, hydraulic braking and folding fat-tire utility.

01 Folding performance

750W motor with up to 1400W peak and 95 N·m torque

The Mars 3.0 uses a 750W sustained rear-hub motor with up to 1400W peak output and 95 N·m of torque, giving the folding fat-tire platform strong everyday and hill performance.

  • 750 WSustained motor
  • 1400 WPeak output
  • 95 N·mTorque

Peak output and torque are manufacturer figures and vary in real use with load, battery state and terrain.

02 Battery and range

Heybike lists a 624Wh battery and up to 65 miles of range under favourable pedal-assist conditions.

Higher speeds, hills, cold weather, throttle use and heavier loads reduce real-world range.

03 Control and comfort

Hydraulic disc brakes with full suspension and 20 × 4-inch tires

  • FullSuspension
  • 20 × 4 inFat tires

Tire pressure, brake condition and suspension setup have a major effect on handling and stopping performance.

04 Capacity and storage

Heavy-payload folding chassis rated up to 440 lb

Heybike rates the Mars 3.0 for a maximum combined load of 440 lb. The folding frame helps with storage, but the high-capacity chassis should still be treated as a substantial bike rather than a lightweight carry.

  • 440 lbMax load
  • FoldableFrame
  • 20 inWheel format

Check storage and vehicle loading in person if frequent carrying is part of the plan.

05 Controls and drivetrain

Shimano Altus 8-speed with torque sensing and NFC

A Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain, torque-sensing pedal assist and NFC unlocking give the Mars 3.0 a more refined control system than earlier Mars models.

  • 8-speedShimano Altus
  • TorquePedal sensor
  • NFCUnlocking

Mechanical gearing still matters for cadence and drivetrain load even with torque-sensing assistance.

Heybike Mars 3.0 Folding Fat-Tire Electric Bike

The Heybike Mars 3.0 is a folding fat-tire e-bike built around a 750W rear hub motor with up to 1400W peak output and 95 N·m of torque. Its 624Wh removable battery is rated for up to 65 miles under manufacturer test conditions, while 20 × 4-inch tires and full suspension make it better suited to mixed surfaces than a lightweight city bike.

A quick-fold frame helps reduce its storage footprint, and hydraulic disc brakes, a Shimano Altus 8-speed drivetrain, torque-sensor pedal assist, NFC startup and a colour TFT display give the Mars 3.0 a more complete everyday package than basic folding e-bikes.

Mars 3.0 vs. Venus and Ranger S

The Mars 3.0 is the comfort-and-traction choice in this part of the Heybike range. The Heybike Venus is substantially lighter and more commuter-focused, while the Heybike Ranger S offers a compact step-through folding design in two motor configurations.

Who Is the Heybike Mars 3.0 Best For?

Choose the Mars 3.0 if you want a folding e-bike with fat-tire stability, full suspension and strong cargo capacity. Heybike lists a maximum combined load of 440 lb, but the bike itself weighs about 70 lb, so the folding mechanism is most useful for storage rather than frequent carrying. Claimed range varies substantially with assist level, throttle use, rider weight, hills and weather.

I drove all the way from Seattle to bring my daughter's scooter to ProMechBC and I could not be more pleased with both the repairs and the customer service. I will definitely be bringing the scooter North of the border when it needs some love.

Recently had an accident with my Apollo Go — luckily nothing major was damaged, but it still needed some repair and replacement parts. Service was great, and I got my scooter back within a week. :D
