Why riders choose the Heybike Ranger S

Heybike Ranger S: 750W vs 1000W Power, Range & Folding Utility

Compare Ranger S motor variants, battery and range, fat-tire comfort, hydraulic braking and folding practicality before choosing a configuration.

01 Two motor configurations

750W and 1000W versions with up to 1800W peak output

Ranger S is offered in 750W and 1000W rear-hub configurations. Current Heybike specifications list up to 1400W peak for the 750W model and 1800W peak with 100 N·m torque for the 1000W model.

  • 750 / 1000 WMotor options
  • 1400 / 1800 WPeak output
  • Up to 100 N·mTorque

Confirm the selected motor version because performance and hardware differ between configurations.

02 Battery and range

48V 14.4Ah battery with up to 55 miles claimed range

The Ranger S uses a 48V 14.4Ah battery, approximately 692Wh, with a manufacturer maximum range around 55 miles under favourable pedal-assist conditions.

  • 48 V 14.4 AhBattery
  • ~692 WhCapacity
  • 55 miMax claimed range

Range depends on motor version, speed, hills, rider load, temperature and assist use.

03 Control and traction

Hydraulic disc brakes with 20 × 4-inch fat tires

Hydraulic disc brakes and 20 × 4-inch fat tires give the Ranger S stable braking and traction in a compact folding format.

  • 20 × 4 inFat tires
  • FrontSuspension

Brake condition, tire pressure and wet surfaces can materially affect stopping distance.

04 Portability

Folding step-through frame for storage and easy access

The step-through folding chassis makes the Ranger S easier to mount and more compact to store than a conventional full-size fat-tire bike.

  • Step-throughFrame
  • FoldableStorage
  • 20 inWheel format

Folding reduces size, not lifting weight; test the carry if stairs are part of daily use.

05 Drivetrain and connectivity

Variant-specific assist with Shimano gearing and app connectivity

Both Ranger S configurations use Shimano gearing and Heybike App connectivity, but the assist hardware differs: Heybike lists cadence-based assist for the 750W version and a torque sensor for the 1000W version.

That distinction matters for ride feel. The 1000W torque-sensor configuration responds more directly to pedalling force, while the 750W version keeps the more traditional cadence-sensor behaviour.

  • Heybike AppConnectivity

Assist sensor type differs by motor configuration. Confirm the selected Ranger S variant before ordering.

Heybike Ranger S Folding Fat-Tire Electric Bike

The Heybike Ranger S is a step-through folding fat-tire e-bike offered in two distinct power configurations. The 750W version uses a 1400W peak rear hub motor with 80 N·m of torque and a manufacturer-rated top speed of up to 28 mph. The 1000W version increases peak output to 1800W, torque to 100 N·m and top speed to up to 32 mph.

Both configurations use 20 × 4-inch fat tires, hydraulic brakes, a folding frame and are rated by Heybike for up to 55 miles of range. That combination makes the Ranger S appealing to riders who want compact storage, a low step-through frame and more traction than a conventional commuter e-bike.

750W vs. 1000W Ranger S

The 750W model is the more moderate choice for everyday riding, while the 1000W model targets riders who specifically want stronger acceleration and higher performance. Because speed and motor output differ by configuration, select the variant based on the actual performance level you need rather than treating every Ranger S as a 32 mph bike.

Ranger S vs. Mars 3.0 and Venus

For a full-suspension folding fat-tire platform, compare the Heybike Mars 3.0. Riders who prefer a significantly lighter, conventional-wheel commuter should look at the Heybike Venus. You can also browse the full Heybike collection.

Who Is the Heybike Ranger S Best For?

Heybike lists a recommended rider height of approximately 4'11"–6'3", a bike weight of about 72 lb and a maximum combined load of 400 lb. It is best for riders who want step-through access and folding storage but do not need a lightweight bike for frequent lifting.

I drove all the way from Seattle to bring my daughter's scooter to ProMechBC and I could not be more pleased with both the repairs and the customer service. I will definitely be bringing the scooter North of the border when it needs some love.

Recently had an accident with my Apollo Go — luckily nothing major was damaged, but it still needed some repair and replacement parts. Service was great, and I got my scooter back within a week. :D
